Monday December 5th is International Volunteer Day. This is a United Nations auspiced day that commenced in 1985 and is now celebrated around the world as a day to recognise the contribution of volunteers
With that in mind Triathlon Queensland would like to specifically thank all our technical officials who give of their own free time to ensure the continued success of our great sport.
Technical officials ensure the safety and fairness of triathlon and multisport competition. Officials are integral to the successful running of races. The role of a technical official is not an easy one and reasons for becoming a technical official include
· Gain a better understanding of the Race Competition Rules
· A chance to give back to the sport and help to develop it
· Gain an insight into what is involved in conducting a triathlon event thus giving you a greater appreciation for marshals and officials at future events making you a better competitor
If you would like more information about becoming a Technical Official please email operations@triathlonqld.com.au
We would also like to recognise and thank all volunteers at our events and volunteers in the wider triathlon community at events and clubs who always give but sometimes don’t always get recognised.
