29 October 2008 : Triathlon Queensland has a New President
Michael Broadbent (Redcliffe Triathlon Club) was appointed President of Triathlon Queensland. Three additional board members were appointed Brad Gunn and Roy Hopper with Rob Eley taking up the 1/2 term director position.
Michael Broadbent paid tribute to Wayne Wilson on behalf of the board and all members of Triathlon Queensland. "Triathlon Queensland would like to thank and officially recognise the contribution of Wayne Wilson as President of Triathlon Queensland for 4 years. As President he has seen the company through some turbulent times and has been integral to the development of the strong, stable, strategic environment that exists in Triathlon Queensland today."
Wayne Wilson presented his final report at the AGM on the 14 October, 2008. His full report is available in the 2008 Annual Report (available on-line soon). It is summarised below:
Events - aim for cost neutral, growing, healthy numbers Member Services - CEO meeting with clubs, able to service club needs Training/Coaching Courses - Qld is the National benchmark. Junior Development - Strong results, opportunities for elite/age group development pathways provided. Office - Running more efficiently. Enthusiasm & Drive. Rigorous recruitment process. 2 full time staff.
Challenges - website development ongoing, increasing membership, sustainability of organisation with less reliance on government funding
Acknowledgements - TQ staff, volunteers, the board who have driven the company growth & development. World Championships is local near year so another opportunity for TQ & members. |
