Triathlon Queensland Presentation Night - A Success

A great night was had by all at the 2010 Triathlon Queensland Presentation Dinner
at The Landing at Dockside. Guests began to arrive from 6.30 pm and MC Matt
Bury got things started by inviting CEO Jo Weaver to give a welcome to all guests
and a toast to another successful year.

The legendary Brad Beven was on hand to present those athletes who won medals
at World Championship events in 2009/2010 with a commerative towel. 

Matt Bury conducted a Q&A session with Brad Beven and asked some interesting questions that helped us all to know a little bit more about what makes an elite athlete tick and what made Brad such an exceptional athlete.

Annabel Luxford took a look back on the elite season of 2009/2010 and again gave us some insight on what it is like to be an elite athlete and the demands of travelling, training and racing. 

Our key note speaker was Jackie Fairweather (nee Gallagher) a woman who successes as both a Triathlete and marathon runner are well known in triathlon circles. As a multiple world champion she gave us plenty of stories from her days as an athlete and of those she competed against.

Through out the night Matt Bury kept things rolling with his own unique style of commentary. There were raffles throughout  the night with many great prizes won. 

At the end of the evening we had our presentation of awards to the age group athletes of the year, Club of the year, Volunteer of the Year and Coach of the Year, presented by Jackie Fairweather.

Jo Weaver closed off the night with her thoughts on the year gone by and hopes for the future.
