TQ Development Program

The primary purpose of the TQ Development Squads is to identify and support Junior and U23 Queensland triathletes to reach their maximal potential, whilst enhancing Queenslands presence at National Junior and U23 selection competitions and development opportunities. In 2011-2012 TQ will be supporting three development squads and will offer support that is commensurate with the level of squad that the athlete has reached.

TQ Development Squad TQDS [13 - 23 years] |
This squad provides an opportunity for Queensland Juniors and U23 triathletes to develop new skills and experiences in a positive and enjoyable environment. These athletes may be beginning their journey along either the elite or age group pathway. |

TQ Emerging Talent Squad TQETS [16 - 23 years] |
This squad provides an opportunity for aspiring elite QueenslandITU Junior &U23 athletes to develop new skills and experiences in an environment that demands commitment. |

TQ Talent Squad TQTS [16 - 23 years] |
This squad provides asess to excellent support services to assist talented ITY Junior and U23 athletes who have demonstrated commitment to the sport and aspire to pursue selection into Australian ITU Junior/U23 teams and the QAS program |
These squads not only cater for the differing levels of talent within theITU Junior and U23 ranks in Queensland, but also provide opportunities for athletes who do not aspire to become elite. In addition, the structure provides a progressive pathway of support for those athletes who want to pursue excellence in either elite or age group competitions.
To join the TQ Development Squad please read the Selection Policy and complete and return the Nomination Form with the appropriate fee to the office.

Draft Legal Triathlon Race Requirements for all ITU Junior/U23 athletes Any athlete who has not been endorsed to race in ITU Junior events or the School Sport Australia Senior Draft Legal race must have their skills assessed by one of the TQ assessors. This must be done prior to competing in any draft legal race this season in order to ensure your safety and the safety of the other competitors. Once you have completed this process you will be able to race in Junior Draft Legal events whilst you are age eligible.

13-15 Skill Acquisition & Performance Indicator Clinics Any athlete aged 13-15 (as of 31st December 2012) and part of the Triathlon Queensland Development Squad can take part in a number of Clinics held across the season.
These clinics are held FREE-OF-CHARGE for Triathlon Queensland Development Squad Members only.
